HP 2133 Mini-Note PC: The Real ASUS EEE PC Killer!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I just found out about this laptop through Kuya Dom’s Blog. It really caught my attention through its sleek and stylish design, far way more better than ASUS EEE PC and NEO Explore X1 (Of course it’s really better than NEO). Since I know nothing more about this laptop because I have not put my hands into it (yet). All I can give you guys is a picture of it. (more…)

NEO Explore X1

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I know I’m very late to blog about this and I know that you’ve heard about this so called ASUS EEE PC Killer: The NEO Explore X1. I haven’t put my hands on it yet nor tried to play around with it that’s why I can’t tell if it’s better than ASUS EEE PC or just another crap ultraportable laptop. As what I’ve heard, the only advantage of NEO Explore X1 is its 30 GB Hard Disk. Now that’s big compared to ASUS EEE PC eh? It’s price ranges from Php 16,999.00 to Php 17,999.00 here in the Philippines. (more…)

Goodbye Analog TVs

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

No… not in the Philippines, but in the United States. I think we’ll still be on “Analog” until the world’s end. Hahaha!

The US federal government is turning off analog television at the stroke of midnight on February 17, 2009. The idea is to provide better images and sound, deliver programming options and free up airwaves for emergency first responders, such as police and fire services. This is the biggest change to standard TV signals since color TVs were introduced over 50 years ago. (more…)

iPod Error: Photo Sync

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

“Some of your photos were not copied because they cannot be displayed on your iPod”. If you have encountered this kind of error, and you’re here looking for help, or a solution of how to fix it, thank Google, you’re in the right place.

I encountered this error while synchronizing some of my JPEG images from my laptop to my iPod. After iTunes optimized the images to my iPod Nano 3rd Gen, a sudden error prompted from iTunes, and it states that “Some of your photos, including the photo ___.jpg, were not copied to the iPod ____, because they cannot be displayed on your iPod. I tried to re-sync it again, but still encountered the same error. I googled about this error, hoping that there’s a fix, or someone out there encountered the same error as I did. Luckily, I found lots of forum threads regarding this Photo Sync error. I read the thread posts, and found out that there are JPEG images that are not compatible with iPod.

iTunes do not like a JPEG image with an embedded color profile, that’s what I found in one of the threads of Apple Support Forums. One of the users suggested to use Adobe Lightroom in exporting images, because it’s iTunes-compatible. I also found out that JPEG images saved from Photoshop are not compatible with iTunes, only some, but not all (Weird eh?). Try saving JPEG images from Photoshop, other images will not be synchronized properly. I also tried saving and resizing images on Microsoft Picture Manager, but still, I have no luck.

Finally, I tried opening JPEG images using Paintbrush, renamed it, and save it as JPEG. Opened iTunes, and tried to synchronize my photos again. Guess what? It was properly synchronized into my iPod! Hehehe… That’s how I fixed this Photo Sync error. If you encountered this error, and you have a much better way of how to fix it, kindly leave me a comment on this post. Thanks! :)

Smart Bro Sucks!

Smart Bro Sucks!

WARNING BEFORE READING THIS POST: There of hundreds of wrong tenses and grammatical errors below, and on this sentence, because there’s a lot, I swear! (huh?) hehe… *ang gulo no?*

I know these words or can I say phrase? was circulating all over the internet, covering the 1st page of SERPs for the keyword “Smart Bro”. If you’re looking for Smart Bro reviews before applying for a Smart Broadband connection, you probably have landed to several blogs and forums and read a lot of negative reviews from 99% of unsatisfied Smart Bro subscribers nationwide. Complaining, complaining and complaining because of the super high-speed connection that Smart Bro provides them. Well, I’m not complaining, because I love smart, I don’t have a high-speed broadband connection, only a putol putol connection, and I love it because it keeps me awake, and wait for Smart Bro to reconnect again. If it’s disconnected, I’ll just click diagnose, and windows will detect what’s the error, if windows cannot detect the error, I’ll click diagnose again, until my Smart Bro will come back to life for minutes, and again, it will eventually be disconnected, so what I do is execute that “diagnose” routine again, then I’ll go back online, then offline, then online again. Was that amazing??? hehehe… :)

My Smart Bro connection fluctuates happily, and I’m so satisfied for its performance. And oh… I would like to say again that I’m not complaining about Smart Bro, actually I would like to commend them for their excellent service! If you’re curious why my post title was “Smart Bro Sucks”, it’s purely ironic, I just want to get some traffic for people who were searching for Smart Bro negative reviews, that’s why my post title was “Smart Bro Sucks”, but they don’t suck, they RULE! They are the best broadband connection that was available here in the Philippines! (My next post would probably be how to pay Smart Bro bills via BPI Express Online, kasi wala pang blogs sa SERPs, just saw it in an old forum.)

Want to know more why Smart Bro Sucks? Then read this post!

Are you using SMART Broken? And you can’t connect to the Internet? If so, you can try these tips from Kate (One of our commentators):

FIRST TIP: Check your IP Address (Smart Bro’s IP address is in the series of 192)
Your IP should not be static.

For 192 series who can’t connect to the internet or browse any website:
1. Open the command prompt and have a ping test;
1A. ping test for gateway: 10.0.0.1
1B. ping test for wireless gateway: 192.168.224.1
2. Check the proxy settings: All of the boxes should have no check.
3. Clear all private data (e.g.: cookies, files, browsing history)

If you still can’t connect to the internet try these:
» Restart your PC and unplug the POE/Motorola adaptor for about 30 seconds, then plug it back.
» Check your IP and try to browse if it works.

SECOND TIP: If your IP address is on series 169:
1. Disable/Enable LAN
2. If your IP is still in 169 series, restart your PC and unplug/plug POE/Motorola adaptor for about 30seconds.
3. Check the IP address
4. Check the cable if it’s properly connected
5. Check the proxy settings
6. Try to browse again.

If you’re so tired in doing those stuff again and again and still you can’t connect to the internet call Smart Bro’s Hotline at *1888 so that Smart Bro can check the parameters of your antenna from the Base Station.

Have patience, don’t be mad about the service. These are just machines built by human hands so it’s not perfect same as human beings. Simple but it makes sense.

If you still have concerns, just make a follow up about it by calling Smart Bro’s Hotline at *1888.

Peace! :)

HP Pavilion TX2000

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

First of all, this is not my laptop, secondly, I’m not reviewing it. I’m just informing everyone that it has been released by HP last January 8, 2008. It’s an upgrade, or more of a.. ahmmm? a newer version of their tablet PC. It will, I think, replace their previous table PC which is HP Pavilion TX1000, the one that I already owned (btw, I haven’t reviewed it yet, and now a newer model arrives! darn!) Huhuhu… I just bought my laptop last December 2007, and after a month, or weeks perhaps, a newer, more powerful TX series had been released and was featured last January 7 to 10, 2008 at Las Vegas during the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2008. *Sigh* I wished I haven’t bought my laptop yet, kasi ilang days lang may bago na pala agad! amf naman oh!.

As for the reviews, while I was googling about HP Pavilion TX2000 series, I have found out that it’s far way more better than TX1000. (Siyempre kaya nga nag upgrade eh, alangan namang mas pangit diba? hehehe… ). Its main upgraded feature was it is Wacom® Penabled®, I really don’t know what’s the main advantage of it to a simple touchscreen tablet, just google about that Wacom® thing and you’ll know. For the memory, its maximum capacity was 4 GB, same with TX1000. For the hard drive, you can upgrade it for up to 320 GB, higher than HP TX1000 that is upgradeable only for up to 250 GB. For the rest of the specs, just Google it! Okey? What’s the use of Google if you don’t use it? Hehehe…

If you are planning to buy this latest and hottest tablet PC by HP, the price starts from $1,299.00 (2GIG RAM, 250GIG HDD), and is only available in the U.S.. If you’re from the U.S., and you don’t want to buy the newest HP Pav, why not send money to the Philippines online and let your love ones choose the best and most affordable laptop here in the Philippines. There’s a lot of brand new laptops that are available at a very affordable price, specially at eBay. Hehehe.. That’s all for now guys ^__^.

I’ll be upgrading my laptop if I reached $2000.00 on my Adsense earnings! hahaha (asa pa ako.. hehe)
