The Manila Ocean Park Nifty Guide

This post was for those who have not yet visited the first Oceanarium in the Philippines, also known as the Manila Ocean Park. First things first, ahmmm? Ok I don’t know what to say. Hehe. Perhaps, I’ll just state the park rules. But before that I want to present you a snap shot inside the prestigious Manila Ocean Park! Tsarannn!!

Unfortunately, the picture above was taken from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Japan. That was my dream Manila Ocean Park. By year 2050 or maybe 2070 this dream may become a reality. Hehehe. (Photo by: sharkinformation.org)

Itching to see what’s inside Manila Ocean Park? Check the real picture below:

Here are the things to bear in mind before going to the Manila Ocean Park.

Admission Rates
Php 400.00 for Adults and Php 350.00 for Children. 20% Discount for Senior Citizens and 10% Discount for Manila Residents (Must Present Valid ID: Passport or License). (Di nila spinecify anong license, basta nabasa ko lang to sa vertical LCD TV nila sa entrance.)

Operating Hours
Manila Ocean Park is open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm during Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm during weekdays (Monday to Friday). Ticket Sale is until 8:15 pm. Groups requesting for earleir or evening tour schedules may be accommodated.

Tour Flow
The duration of the tour takes about two (2) hours to finish. Journey Tour Guides are provided for the guests to assist them in every zone (pero pag punta namin wala namang tour guides na nag a assist every zone.. toink!). Apart from the audio narration, the guides are strategically located to help answer inquiries from guests. (May mga tour guide sa loob pero di naman talaga nag gaguide, may dinadala lang silang karatola na “Bawal Umupo Dyan”, hehe)

Re-Entry
Same day re-entry at the Oceanarium is permitted by having your hand stamped by the cashier at the second floor before the exit though the Ozeano Restaurant.

Proper Attire
Slippers and sleeveless undershirts are not allowed inside the Oceanarium.

Food and Beverage
Food, beverages, candies and chewing gum are not allowed inside the Oceanarium. Infant formula is allowed inside the premises.

Photography
Flash photography is not allowed as this scares the marine animals. Photography, videotaping, recording of any kind, broadcast or transmission for commercial purposes is not allowed.

Those are the important points to remember before visiting the Philippines’ First Oceanarium.

How to get there? Just tell the taxi to bring you to the Manila Ocean Park, 99.9% of taxi drivers know the whereabouts of the Ocean Park. The nearest LRT station to the Manila Ocean Park is United Stations. You can walk from there if you want to. It’s just behind Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park.

For inquiries you can call 567-7777. Hehehe. Parang commercial. 😛
