What’s the best Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Philippines?
Ok, I’ve been offline for 2 days straight “AGAIN” because of Smart Bro’s Awesome Internet Connection and I can’t blame myself of choosing it as my ISP due to the fact that I already knew that it really sucks, still, I made my dumb choice to go for Smart Bro.

All Internet Service Providers had their own “Negative Reviews” that’s why I can’t decide myself which of them is better than the other. I only know few ISPs here in the Philippines (excluding Smart Bro): Globelines Broadband, SkyBroadband,Sky Cable’s ZPDee, Sky Internet, DigitelOne DSL, Bayantel DSL, Meridian Telekoms Broadband and PLDT MyDSL.
What I’m trying to do now is to solicit comments from you, my dear readers, of what’s the best Internet Service Provider in the Philippines from your own experience because I’m planning to dump Smart Bro and move to a brand new ISP after suffering internet havoc for 48 hours straight.
Hoping to hear from you guys…
UPDATE 07/27/09: Here’s a top 10 list of Internet Service Providers in the Philippines based on SpeedTest.net. I can only name two commercial ISPs in the screenshot below: Sky Broadband and Sky Internet (I’m not sure if these two are now merged. Others also said that Sky Internet is the same with Bayan DSL). Most of the ISPs in the list are private. If you’re a DOST employee, you’re very lucky to experience the fastest upload and download speed in the Philippines. Here’s the screenshot of the Top 10 ISPs:

i was actually looking for an isp na mabailis UPLOAD speed. because i wanted to host a FREE online games. Bayantels 786kbps get 80kBps ul transfer rate. i just don’t know if increases with the plan of 2mbps kung magiging 200kBps ang ul. but i doubt it kasi adsl ang actual connection type nila. yung naman skybroadband `12/1 ang pinakamataas na plan for P6000 a month. that would mean na 100kBps lang ul speed. yung pldt may inoffer sa parang server services but P18000 a month at i need a business license to get it.
in short i just want a connection type (residential) which can gice me the highest upload speed possible.

wag kayong mag subscribe sa smart bro. currently a smart bro user. during peak hours around 10am-10pm my internet speed is usually 50-200kbps whilst their commercial is about 2mbps. kayo lng ang binobobo ng smart bro. to check how ur connection is unstable. go to command prompt and ping yahoo.com -t or any website. if you see request timed out alot means you got shitty connection. you can also try at 2wire.com or testmy.net for your speedtest. they are very accurate and most likely same result. guys dont be deceive with their commercial. ITS ALL LIES. i wanna sue them actually coz im an online gamer particularly wow( world of warcraft) and i cant even connect properly. so yeah its CRAPbro or FAILbro.

Agree. I had so much problems with smart bro and with sun broadband. Smart bro is very slow esp kapag may ulan. Tapos it takes forever for the bills to arrive and sometimes they double bill you. You really have to be keep track of the bills and make sure you pay smart at the smart stores kasi sometimes they don’t accredit your payments from the banks or SM for a month or two. Tapos it takes weeks for a repair crew to come and sometimes all they do is come and look for 5 minutes then leave.
With Sun broadband, the bills are on time pero its very slow. Minsan in Mandaluyong, its only 5kbps. I’m not kidding. The slowed I ever got was .11kbps. Yes. point 11. The fastest was 300kbps. And these are during non-peak hours in Mandaluyong. Tapos sira ang ZTE modem 3 times in 2 months because defective ang modem. China-made talaga. Mas tagal ang repairs lalo sa Smart!
Suggestion ko: don’t get smart bro or sun broadband if that would be your primary internet service provider.

Can anyone please do an inquiry on Eastern Communication Prices?
Provided they allow 4mbps(Not as high as what sky advertises I expect them to be cheap)
Korean owned shops such as Station168 or Ihooked Uses THIS ISP And from my experience with this shop they don’t fail to deliver STABLE internet speeds

well ako naman sa digitel it took them 1 year para ma realize ng mga tech nila na di na nila kaya ayusin ang problema. take note tech nila nag sabi neto. “sir binatuhan ko na kayo ng 2mb connection na check ko na ung port assignment nyo pero mabagal parin advise ko kayo sir try nyo sa ibang internet service provider. sa totoo lang sir nag bawas na kami ng tao at wala ng technician ang naka assign sa area nyo”. wow after reporting to them for morethan oneyear of slow connection. eto ang na kuha kong sagot sa kanila. well good thing na sa kanila nang galing ung problema kasi ipapa putol ko ung connection at hindi ako mag babayad kahit isang singkong duling
