Poloniex 101: Newbie’s Guide to Buying and Selling Cryptos in Poloniex

If you’re already trading cryptos, then this post is NOT for you. This is a quick guide for those who have no clue how to buy and sell Bitcoins, and trade it to other coins like Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple XRP, Stellar, or other well-known crypto currencies out there, in Poloniex.com.

First of all, I will answer Jacq’s question on “How to send your Bitcoins from Poloniex.com to Coins.ph in order to withdraw it” in my previous post about Buying ethers in the Philippines. Once you’re logged in, just go to Balances > Deposits & Withdrawals.

Then go to your BTC wallet, and click withdraw (right beside deposit):

Enter your Coins.ph BTC wallet, enter the amount if BTC you want to withdraw, then click the withdraw button:

Enter your 2FA code (if you enabled it), then click the withdrawal verification link that will be sent to your e-mail. Then you’re done.

If you another cryptocurrency (i.e. LTC, ETH, XMR) you need to sell it first for Bitcoin, before doing the steps above. To sell it, just go to Exchange, click on the currency you want to sell on the “Market” box. Then on the lower right part, enter the amount of cryptocurrency that you want to sell. Then click sell. Then you’re done!

Buying Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Ripple XRP, Stellar Lumens, Digibytes, Bytecoin, and other cryptocurrencies in Poloniex

1. To buy, go to Exchange. Notice the “Market” box on the right. Click any cryptocurrency that you want to buy:

The “Market” box. Select the cryptocurrency you want to buy:

Then on the lower left box right below the graph, you’ll see this box:

Enter the amount of ETH that you want to buy (10 ethers for example), then click buy. That’s it!

You can now view the amount of ethers you’re currently holding in Balances > Deposits & Withdrawals, withdraw it to your preferred wallet, or just keep it in Poloniex.
