
The time has finally come, today the new Miss Philippines Earth will be crowned. It is one of the major beauty pageants in the country wherein the winner would be representing its international competition that will be held in Thailand. This year’s competition happened in the beautiful city of in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The kind of competition this year is somewhat different from the previous ones as only 10 lucky candidates would be facing each other in the final night. As the final night approaches, there will be a series of competitions on different categories at the same time eliminations are being executed until they reach top 10.
This year’s top 10 candidates are:

Michelle Gavagan (Las Piñas City)
Jonavi Quiray (Puerto Princesa City)

Brenna Gamboa (Fil East Coast USA)
Athena Imperial (Casiguran)
Tarhata Rico (Makati City)
Catrine Rosary Ocampo (General Santos City)
As the competition continued, the lovely ladies had their first question and answer portion wherein among the 10 candidates, 5 will be chosen and will then proceed to the second and final Q and A. Miss Jonavi Quiray (Puerto Princesa City), Miss Tarhata Rico (Makati City), Miss Murielle Adrienne Orais (Cebu City), Miss Athena Imperial (Casiguran), and Miss Michelle Gavagan (Las Piñas City) made it to the top 5. Then they answered the final question about the consideration of having a nuclear power plant in the country as an alternative source of energy being the cleanest and the most efficient compared to other energy plants. Most of them answered no with their own reasons about it.
Miss Athena Imperial (Casiguran) has been crowned as the 2011 Miss Philippines -Earth and she will representing the country in Thailand in the next few months. Miss Murielle Adrienne Orais (Cebu City) was also crowned as Miss Water, Miss Jonavi Quiray (Puerto Princesa City) as Miss Air, Miss Tarhata Rico (Makati City) as Miss Eco Tourism and Miss Michelle Gavagan (Las Piñas City) as Miss Fire.
