The entire Philippines is now getting ready for the arrival a very strong typhoon named “Chedeng”. It isn’t the first time that the country experienced such chaos as it happened to be in a tropical region wherein typhoons or storms are very usual. Not so long ago, the country also encountered the devastating storm “Ondoy” wherein majority of the cities in the greater Manila area were submerged with flood. It damaged a lot of properties and a lot of Filipinos lost their homes. This is the reason why everyone has been preparing for its arrival.
According to the latest reports, the typhoon grew stronger but fortunately, it is not expected to hit landfall in Luzon anymore. This is based to the state weather bureau PAGASA Thursday.
PAGASA said the typhoon was last spotted 230 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, with maximum sustained winds of 170 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kph.
The picture above clearly showed the path of the typhoon and how is it sparing Philippines from a potential damage. Such movement of the typhoon was affected by a high pressure area (HPA) northwest of Luzon and over the Pacific Ocean. By Sunday evening, Chedeng is expected move in a northwesterly direction, and will exit the northern border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Rains are still expected in southern Luzon and western Visayas, including Metro Manila over the weekend though. Residents are still encouraged to prepare and be alert for possible flash floods.
