Uruguay vs. South Korea World Cup 2010 Scores and Results – The first football match scheduled on day 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa between Uruguay vs. South Korea was already finished. Held at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, Uruguay won against South Korea with a final score of 2-1.

The early goal was accomplished by Uruguay during the 8th minute through Suarez. Suarez gave the South Americans an early lead, side-footing into the unguarded goal after superb work from Forlan of Uruguay on the left. Sungryong had come for Forlan’s drilled cross but was left stranded, and the Ajax striker made no mistake from the right-hand edge of the six-yard box.

Jungwoo received a yellow card in the 38th minute and the first half ended with Uruguay leading against South Korea at 1-0. The second half began with South Korea on the attack. Their efforts paid off during the 68th minute when Chungyong scored a goal. Chungyong left unmarked to head home a half-cleared free-kick from Sungyueng. With that goal, South Korea leveled with Uruguay at 1-1.

Uruguay did not accept a draw from South Korea as another successful goal from the same person, Suarez, came in on the 80th minute. Suarez cut inside from the left and curled a magnificent right-foot shot in off the inside of the far post. It was a wonderful goal for Suarez. No doubt it was one of the best goals in the tournament. That put Uruguay, once again, in lead against South Korea at 2-1.

South Korea tried their best to score once again to make a draw against Uruguay but to no avail until the final whistle was heard in the 92nd minute marking the end of the match. Congratulations to Uruguay! South Americans rule against Asians in this football match.
