However, during the 81st minute, it was Italy’s time for a successful goal through DiNatale. It was an unusual quick break for Italy as Quagliarella’s shot from about 15 yards was paired by Mucha, into the path of DiNatale on the left. DiNatale then slotted it home for a goal. That was1-2 for Italy.
Slovakia’s lead was further pushed to 3-1 during the 89th minute of the game through Marchetti. Kopunek, from a throw, nipped in and lobbed it over to Marchetti for Slovakia’s third goal. Yet two minutes after that goal from Slovakia, Italy retaliated with their own goal through Quagliarella. It was a top corner floater from Quagliarella from about 20 yards as the ball shipped beyond Mucha’s fingertips.
Italy tried their best to make another goal for a draw against Slovakia before the end of the match but to no avail. The final whistle was heard in the 94th minute ending the match. It was 3-2 in favor of Slovakia. With that win, Italy was now eliminated in the FIFA World Cup 2010 football competition. Congratulations to Slovakia!
