Smart Bro Sucks!

WARNING BEFORE READING THIS POST: There of hundreds of wrong tenses and grammatical errors below, and on this sentence, because there’s a lot, I swear! (huh?) hehe… *ang gulo no?*

I know these words or can I say phrase? was circulating all over the internet, covering the 1st page of SERPs for the keyword “Smart Bro”. If you’re looking for Smart Bro reviews before applying for a Smart Broadband connection, you probably have landed to several blogs and forums and read a lot of negative reviews from 99% of unsatisfied Smart Bro subscribers nationwide. Complaining, complaining and complaining because of the super high-speed connection that Smart Bro provides them. Well, I’m not complaining, because I love smart, I don’t have a high-speed broadband connection, only a putol putol connection, and I love it because it keeps me awake, and wait for Smart Bro to reconnect again. If it’s disconnected, I’ll just click diagnose, and windows will detect what’s the error, if windows cannot detect the error, I’ll click diagnose again, until my Smart Bro will come back to life for minutes, and again, it will eventually be disconnected, so what I do is execute that “diagnose” routine again, then I’ll go back online, then offline, then online again. Was that amazing??? hehehe… :)

My Smart Bro connection fluctuates happily, and I’m so satisfied for its performance. And oh… I would like to say again that I’m not complaining about Smart Bro, actually I would like to commend them for their excellent service! If you’re curious why my post title was “Smart Bro Sucks”, it’s purely ironic, I just want to get some traffic for people who were searching for Smart Bro negative reviews, that’s why my post title was “Smart Bro Sucks”, but they don’t suck, they RULE! They are the best broadband connection that was available here in the Philippines! (My next post would probably be how to pay Smart Bro bills via BPI Express Online, kasi wala pang blogs sa SERPs, just saw it in an old forum.)

Want to know more why Smart Bro Sucks? Then read this post!

Are you using SMART Broken? And you can’t connect to the Internet? If so, you can try these tips from Kate (One of our commentators):

FIRST TIP: Check your IP Address (Smart Bro’s IP address is in the series of 192)
Your IP should not be static.

For 192 series who can’t connect to the internet or browse any website:
1. Open the command prompt and have a ping test;
1A. ping test for gateway: 10.0.0.1
1B. ping test for wireless gateway: 192.168.224.1
2. Check the proxy settings: All of the boxes should have no check.
3. Clear all private data (e.g.: cookies, files, browsing history)

If you still can’t connect to the internet try these:
» Restart your PC and unplug the POE/Motorola adaptor for about 30 seconds, then plug it back.
» Check your IP and try to browse if it works.

SECOND TIP: If your IP address is on series 169:
1. Disable/Enable LAN
2. If your IP is still in 169 series, restart your PC and unplug/plug POE/Motorola adaptor for about 30seconds.
3. Check the IP address
4. Check the cable if it’s properly connected
5. Check the proxy settings
6. Try to browse again.

If you’re so tired in doing those stuff again and again and still you can’t connect to the internet call Smart Bro’s Hotline at *1888 so that Smart Bro can check the parameters of your antenna from the Base Station.

Have patience, don’t be mad about the service. These are just machines built by human hands so it’s not perfect same as human beings. Simple but it makes sense.

If you still have concerns, just make a follow up about it by calling Smart Bro’s Hotline at *1888.

Peace! :)

HP Pavilion TX2000

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

First of all, this is not my laptop, secondly, I’m not reviewing it. I’m just informing everyone that it has been released by HP last January 8, 2008. It’s an upgrade, or more of a.. ahmmm? a newer version of their tablet PC. It will, I think, replace their previous table PC which is HP Pavilion TX1000, the one that I already owned (btw, I haven’t reviewed it yet, and now a newer model arrives! darn!) Huhuhu… I just bought my laptop last December 2007, and after a month, or weeks perhaps, a newer, more powerful TX series had been released and was featured last January 7 to 10, 2008 at Las Vegas during the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2008. *Sigh* I wished I haven’t bought my laptop yet, kasi ilang days lang may bago na pala agad! amf naman oh!.

As for the reviews, while I was googling about HP Pavilion TX2000 series, I have found out that it’s far way more better than TX1000. (Siyempre kaya nga nag upgrade eh, alangan namang mas pangit diba? hehehe… ). Its main upgraded feature was it is Wacom® Penabled®, I really don’t know what’s the main advantage of it to a simple touchscreen tablet, just google about that Wacom® thing and you’ll know. For the memory, its maximum capacity was 4 GB, same with TX1000. For the hard drive, you can upgrade it for up to 320 GB, higher than HP TX1000 that is upgradeable only for up to 250 GB. For the rest of the specs, just Google it! Okey? What’s the use of Google if you don’t use it? Hehehe…

If you are planning to buy this latest and hottest tablet PC by HP, the price starts from $1,299.00 (2GIG RAM, 250GIG HDD), and is only available in the U.S.. If you’re from the U.S., and you don’t want to buy the newest HP Pav, why not send money to the Philippines online and let your love ones choose the best and most affordable laptop here in the Philippines. There’s a lot of brand new laptops that are available at a very affordable price, specially at eBay. Hehehe.. That’s all for now guys ^__^.

I’ll be upgrading my laptop if I reached $2000.00 on my Adsense earnings! hahaha (asa pa ako.. hehe)

Remove the SimpleViewer Download Link

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Have you ever been so eager and itchy to remove the SimpleViewer Download link? By the way, if you are a self-proclaimed righteous and don’t want to commit this software infringement and or.. ahmm? software hacking? hehe…, then don’t continue to read this post! Winston showed me his project’s photo gallery using an integrated SimpleViewer. It was perfectly integrated in the DCNHS website, however, the only problem is that, it has a download link (and most of us don’t want others to see where the hell did I get this amazing flash gallery mentality) and it redirects to the Airtight Interactive website, developer of the SimpleViewer flash gallery. If only, that download link will vanish, it would be better, and more user friendly? hehehe… more likely an original flash gallery created exclusively for that specific web project. Yay! Heehee… (check it now by clicking HERE, the simple gallery download link had been removed)

Jehz? where’s the download link of that cracked flash gallery? Your talking to much and taking us to no where!

OOoopss..! I will not provide a download link, because it will be abused. If you want a copy of the cracked (decompiled and recompiled by me!) gallery. Then, leave a comment, and leave your e-mail (of course it is required in order for you to comment, but just leave the e-mail where you want me to send the file) and I’ll send you the cracked SWF file. But if you’re not interested of having it, why are you reading this post? hmmmm?

For those who don’t want an illegal copy of this flash gallery, you can purchase SimpleViewer flash gallery for only $45.00! You can also download this awesome gallery for free, here! (With the simple viewer download link of course)

So if you’re interested, why not leave me a comment, and beg to have a copy of that flash gallery… heehee… I’ll gladly give you a copy of this cracked SimpleViewer, if you SUBSCRIBE TO MY FEEDS. That’s all! Thanks guys!

P.S.: I know expert ActionScripters will just laugh at me, because they can easily do this super duper great achievement of mine, nyehehe… , so please.. if you’re an A.S. expert, ahmm? la na akong madudugtong… basta yun na yun! bwahehe…

Creating Custom Graphics Has Never Been This Easy!

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

I’ve been creating custom graphics, page headers, splash page images, and logo designs for almost a year now using Photoshop. It’s my daily work routine as a Graphic Artist. Lately, I’ve been so tired of thinking of a new concept for a design project, and wishing that someday Photoshop can design awesome graphics for me, and I’ll just choose what fits best in that specific project.

One day, while I was googling for a custom logo designing software, I stumbled upon this website: www.thelogocreator.com. I was surprised that they have a Logo Design Software, a software that I really wished to own, a software that I’ve been dreaming of, a software that I really can’t imagine to have existed.

While I’m browsing their website, I have found out that I can create incredible logo, page headers, splash page images, movie titles and more that look like a Photoshop guru spent hours laboring over! It’s like having your own logo design studio… without the studio! I then browsed their sample custom graphics and other designs, and was really amazed of how incredible this software can do, and how it can greatly help me with my logo designing stuff and other related projects. I have tried the software for free and it works perfectly fine with its user friendly GUI, and easy to use tools for creating astounding graphics! I can’t wait to have a licensed version of this software, and I’m planning to buy one next week! And oh, by the way, it’s only $29.95. So hurry! Before the prices go up!

With The Logo Creator by Laughingbird Software - you’ll get a portfolio full of logos that you can modify and personalize yourself, in your own time… for far less than what a designer will charge.

An Unbelievably Amazing Gadget!

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Are you an avid James Bond fan? how about Jack Bauer? or Fox Mulder? Have you ever dreamed to be a detective? Owning one of the coolest for-special-agents-only gadgets like the Geiger Counter, GPS tracking device, wristwatch with luminous (and radioactive) face, a German-made Walter PPK, a DX102 Quantum Neo Detector, an Aston Martin DB5 or a BMW 750iL. Well, those are just a few of the vast gadgets that Agent 007 had.

I’m so bored today, that’s why I came up with this odd stuff, searching for classified detective gadgets, equipments, and even an out-of-this-world weapons, like a Jedi knight’s light saber, hehe. I wonder how did George Lucas came up with an idea of a saber that is composed only with light, a semi opaque laser that can cut you to pieces. It was a blade of pure energy emitted from a hilt most often crafted by a wielder to match their own needs, preferences, and style. Because of the unique balance of the saber, with all its weight in the hilt, and a strong gyroscopic effect it was very difficult for the untrained to wield. In the hands of an expert in tune with the Force, such as the Jedi or their fallen brethren, the Sith, the lightsaber was a weapon to be greatly respected, even feared. To wield a lightsaber was to demonstrate incredible skill and confidence, as well as masterful dexterity and attunement to the Force.

Well, so much for this nonsensical Star Wars stuff. That’s not the unbelievably amazing gadget that I’m trying to share with you anyway. By the way, this gadget can be owned by anyone, even if your not a detective, a Jedi or a so-called agent. Nahh.. maybe you’re thinking that this is just another paid review. I beg to disagree, but IT’S NOT, it’s just an odd result of my boredom.

Okey, this gadget is called a GPS tracking key. It is a small, pocket sized device that receives signals from the twenty-four Department of Defense satellites orbiting the earth (Isn’t it amazing???) . The internal computer accurately determines the GPS location of the device within 2.5 meters and records detailed travel activites every second. Data logged includes: route traveled, velocity, and direction. This gadget is a must-buy not just for stalkers, but for anyone who wants to trace or locate the whereabouts of someone for security purposes. If you want to trace the location of a friend, or someone close to you, a son, daughter, wife, husband, or anyone that you want to spy, then this device is for you! This GPS tracking key from LandAirSea.com has many advantages: It’s easy to use, small and concealable, accurate, water resistant, magnetic (can be placed under a car), and is Google Earth Compatible! By the way, this GPS tracking key had solved many murder cases in the U.S.. I have one example, you can check this URL: www.wstm.com/news/content.aspx?id=65658 to know how this GPS device helped solve a murder case (I hope the NBI or our country’s Department of National Defense will have one of these incredible gadgets someday). This device is a must-own gadget nowadays. Visit www.landairsea.com for more information about this GPS tracking device.

FACT: GPS tracking system by LandAirSea Systems, Inc. is a leader at the forefront of GPS tracking technologies since 1994. LandAirSea Systems, Inc. is now the home of the world’s most powerfully engineered GPS tracking equipment. All GPS tracking systems by LandAirSea have gone through extensive engineering and testing, both in the lab and in the field.

That’s all for now :) I’ll be sharing more gadgets that I’ve discovered through the world wide web if I get I’m bored again. Hehehe…

ASUS EEE PC 701 Review

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

I don’t own this cool gadget, but I’ve experienced to play around with it, just like having one, because I’m always bringing it with me. It’s from my work actually, but I can bring it wherever I want.

Karlo of Pinoyblogero.com asked me to make a review of this very hot laptop that he was dying to have, that’s why I’m creating this post, just for him :P hehehe.. and syempre to those who are interested to have an ASUS Eee PC, this review is for you na rin.

It’s the best value-priced notebook on the planet for me, because of its super cute size and stylish design, its friendly user interface (that offers only six easy-to-understand options: Internet, Work, Learn, Play, Settings, and Favorites), it’s very lightweight, and it’s so cheap.
It can’t even occupy the entire space of my small black sling bag, and it’s very unnoticeable that you’re bringing a laptop with you. It’s semi-snatch proof (because snatchers will not notice that you’re bringing a cool and powerful gadget inside your bag, Hehehe… ) My boss bought it for only 18,000.00 Pesos, but I saw this in one of the stores inside the Mall of Asia, and it’s even cheaper, it’s only 17,499.00 in.. ahmm? I forgot the dealer who sells this stuff (just go there, and check all the PC dealers one by one, I’m sure you’ll find it in no time :P)

I don’t have an actual photo of this laptop, but there’s a lot in the web. Just google it, and you’ll find it in every corner of the search results :P But, I have a sample photo taken by this laptop from its webcam.
Clear naman diba? It’s a picture of (from left) Kuya Andrew, Me, and his cousin Tinky in Starbucks outside Glorietta 3. It only has 0.3 megapixels, too small no? Pero, it’s kinda okey naman…

For the specs, it has a 900-MHz Intel Celeron Processor, Asus Xandros-based Linux operating system (but you can install Windows XP if you want, it’s in the manual), 512 MB RAM (it’s upgradeable to 1GIG, or 2GIG yata, pero not sure about the 2GIG upgrade), 4GIG flash drive (eto ang ayaw ko dito, masyadong maliit ang storage. But not bad if you’ll just use it for blogging, browsing, twittering, chatting, and other stuff that you can think about and it will not consume any storage, and oh… about the 4GIG storage, you can only use 1GIG of it, because the system already occupied 75% of its entire memory, so there’s no room for large files like mp3s, mp4s, and you know the rest… You can use an external hard drive if you want a large file storage, I have tried it, and it works fast, this mini gadget can read and open all the files stored in a 250 gig hard drive [even more] as nimble as a PC with Quad-Core processor, hehe.. indeed, it’s really fast, I tell you…), 7 inches/800 x 480 resolution, 64MB video memory, 802.11b/g wireless networking, ( I have tried also to use its wireless internet, in free WiFi zones here in Manila, such as Robinsons Mall, TGI Fridays in Glorietta, and paid hotspots, such as Glorietta 1, 2, 3, and 4, Greenbelt 1 to 5, Starbucks Ayala, RCBC, and all Globequest WIZ hotspots. Its wireless network was incredibly fast, I can do live blogging, twittering, and other stuff that I’m addicted to, just like I’m using a PC with a T3 internet connection, whoaw! that is really fast no? bwahehehe… . I just hope that WiFi hotspots here in Manila are free like the WiFi in Davao.), three USB 2.0, ethernet, modem, headphone, and mic ports, SD/MMC card slots, its size was 8.9 x 6.5 x 1.4 inches, and weighing only 2 pounds. For the video pala, you don’t need to download such crappy DivX plugins to play DivX videos, lahat built it na! wala ka nang hahanapin pa :P and.. for the powerful IE browser (nahhh, just joking, it’s FF, katakot no pag IE? hehe.. ), you don’t need to install plugins such as Adobe Flash Player, Quick Time, Java Runtime Environment, Quicktime Player, and Real Time Player, because it’s all pre-installed. For the Messenger, Skype and Pidgin Messenger (it’s an all in one messenger for AIM, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, QQ, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, and Yahoo) are already installed. For the other features, just buy one, to experience its full power! Rawrr!!!

Overall performance was pretty snappy, even though its processor is only Celeron. All apps load fast, and you won’t regret in buying it because it’s ahmm.. basta yun na yun! nyahehe.. ^_^ Thanks for your time reading my quick and mini review :P

MAC or PC?

Friday, September 28th, 2007

What if somebody will give you a gift, and he/she will let you decide if you want a MAC or a PC. What will you choose? a MAC? or a PC?

But, what if you have earned and saved 200k for 1 year (from your work), and decided to buy a computer, what will you choose? a MAC or a PC? and why? ^_^

I’m facing this problem right now, and I can’t decide whether to have a MAC or a PC. I’m always in front of a PC everyday in the office, that’s why I want to buy MAC and play around with it (because I just want to experience the MAC way of life, wahehe), or have a MAC if someone will give it to me for free. But I think there are limitations in using MAC (some of my software won’t work in MAC, and other applications that works only in PC). If I’ll buy a PC, or have a PC as a free gift from someone, I can do all sort of things that I am doing inside the office. Is it worth it to have a MAC? or a PC?

I think if it’s for free, you’ll choose MAC, because it’s quite expensive compared to PC. But if you’ll buy yourself a computer, you’ll probably go for a PC, for practicality purposes, am I right? or… for you? what will you choose? ^_^ or go for MAC and use iEmulator? hehe

Microsoft Windows Vienna

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Huh? Ano yan bagong OS nanaman?

Those are the 3 types of people in the world wide web base on my opinion. Wahehe… Okey, let’s go back to the main topic, what is Windows Vienna? Sa mga di pa nakaka alam. Nabasa ko lang po to sa pag sesearch ko tungkol sa mga OS, at eto po ay nakuha ko sa Wikipedia. Thank you so much for that free Encyclopedia, dati gagasto ka pa ng 20k-30k maka bili lang ng Encyclopedia, ngayon libre nalang, grabe talaga ang freebies sa Malawak na Mundong Sapot, or World Wide Web. wahehehe… Eto na ang Windows Vienna (copy pasted from wikipedia):

Windows “Vienna” (formerly known as Blackcomb) is a codename for a future version of Microsoft Windows, originally announced in February 2000, that has been subject to major delays and rescheduling. Microsoft has announced it will be released in 2009, and according to “Smart Computing In Plain English”, a technology magazine, work on it began right after Windows Vista was released. As of February 2007, the name of the operating system used internally is undisclosed and is not used publicly by Microsoft, though “Windows 7″ has been noted in job postings as a working name for the project.
Microsoft has refrained from discussing the details about “Vienna” publicly as they focus on the release and marketing of
Windows Vista, though some early details of various core operating system features have emerged at developer conferences such as Windows Hardware Engineering Conference in 2006.

That’s all for now, for the sake sa mga wala pang ka muwang muwang tungkol sa Windows Vienna, atleast pag naligaw kayo sa blog na to may matutu tunan nanaman kayo na bago tungkol sa mga OS, astig diba??? :)
