Spring Break Bail Out

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

My friend in the U.S. sent me an email today. His email recounted his craziest and coolest spring break ever. Attached, also, were photos taken during his wonderful Florida experience. Now, I don’t know if I should be ecstatic about this or a little peeve. Why? Okay, flashback to a month before his wacky vacation.

A few months ago, my friend told me he was going to spend his spring break here in the Philippines. We haven’t seen each other since high school so naturally I was hipped. I made plans already. Knowing he is such beach bud, I organized a reunion down there in Boracay. I was so sure he is going to enjoy the sunset, white sand, seafood, and the girls……. (not sure about the girls appreciating him though… hehe). All was set. However, A few days before his supposed arrival date, he phoned me telling me that he had canceled his trip and was heading to Florida instead. Arrgghh!!!! “The nerve of this worm” I thought. I tried to talk him out of it by appealing to his conscience. Too bad he had none. I also pointed out the improbability of booking any Florida spring break hotels since it was peak season. “All the hotels are sold out and you’d probably end up sleeping beside the sharks” I said. Even this was to no avail for he had already made reservations. How is that possible? Simply, he booked through www.crshotels.com, where great deals on hotel reservation abound.

This worm told me that he, like me, initially thought that all hotels down there in Florida were sold out until he checked CRSHotels.com. “It was easy, I just filled in the specifics and all the information popped out” he said. “Provide the check in and check out date, the destination, number of rooms, and number of guests and viola the screen will show you lists of hotel rooms to choose from” he added. “What I like about the site is that they provide description of the hotel and the room” he said and furthered “it gives you a feel of what the room is like and tells you what amenities are provided. You know what you are getting into. And the coolest thing is that at CRSHotels.com, you pay when you stay. Unlike many other online hotel reservation sites, CRSHotels.com does not require prepayment. You pay the hotel directly, according to the individual hotel’s policy. Check their site for more information.” Grrr… this worm sure won this battle and I rest my case.

Anyway, our high school reunion pushed through and we had such a blast. It was my friend’s lost, I should say, we had so much fun. I have yet to send him our photos and let us see who is going to end up crying.

Does My Header Suck?

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Can you do me a favor? Can you leave a comment and tell me if my header sucks or rocks? Can you tell me honestly if you like it or not? Thanks :)

Many told me that it sucks, and many told me that it’s cool. I don’t no if they are honest or not. For those who tagged my header as “UGLY” I also don’t know if they are telling the truth or just jealous of my header. Because for me, it’s cool, it looks so good, it’s very appealing to my eyes. I’m so proud of my header, and I love my header so much!

So, for you, does it suck? or rock? Please be honest. Positive and negative comments are greatly appreciated. ^_^

iPod Error: Photo Sync

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

“Some of your photos were not copied because they cannot be displayed on your iPod”. If you have encountered this kind of error, and you’re here looking for help, or a solution of how to fix it, thank Google, you’re in the right place.

I encountered this error while synchronizing some of my JPEG images from my laptop to my iPod. After iTunes optimized the images to my iPod Nano 3rd Gen, a sudden error prompted from iTunes, and it states that “Some of your photos, including the photo ___.jpg, were not copied to the iPod ____, because they cannot be displayed on your iPod. I tried to re-sync it again, but still encountered the same error. I googled about this error, hoping that there’s a fix, or someone out there encountered the same error as I did. Luckily, I found lots of forum threads regarding this Photo Sync error. I read the thread posts, and found out that there are JPEG images that are not compatible with iPod.

iTunes do not like a JPEG image with an embedded color profile, that’s what I found in one of the threads of Apple Support Forums. One of the users suggested to use Adobe Lightroom in exporting images, because it’s iTunes-compatible. I also found out that JPEG images saved from Photoshop are not compatible with iTunes, only some, but not all (Weird eh?). Try saving JPEG images from Photoshop, other images will not be synchronized properly. I also tried saving and resizing images on Microsoft Picture Manager, but still, I have no luck.

Finally, I tried opening JPEG images using Paintbrush, renamed it, and save it as JPEG. Opened iTunes, and tried to synchronize my photos again. Guess what? It was properly synchronized into my iPod! Hehehe… That’s how I fixed this Photo Sync error. If you encountered this error, and you have a much better way of how to fix it, kindly leave me a comment on this post. Thanks! :)

Flaunt your Blog with Frontier Labels

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

It’s no secret that I’ve been thinking about my blog header lately. You all know that. In fact, I’ve asked for your opinions and comments. Some think it needs a minor revision, others deem it a masterpiece :) . Whatever position you took, I thank you all for the wonderful comments and suggestion. Cheers!

Now, some of you might ask “why bother with this little detail”. Let me tell you, it’s no minor detail. Blog headers are like company and product labels. It gives readers/ consumers a taste of what you have to offer. Blog headers, like labels, are important since it may act as a gateway or bridge that links the consumers to the world of the supplier. That’s right, impression are formed at the very first glance. So now you know the rationale, ask yourself this “What if Blog headers become product labels?” Cool right?! And that’s what I’ve been contemplating on right now.

So, if you guys are on the same level of frequency and serious about making your blog a label, I suggest you check out www.frontierlabel.com . Frontier Label is the true online leader of digital custom label and custom sticker printing. They make sleek labels and stickers awesome enough to flash it around. The formula and technology they use was carefully researched. Frontier Label investigated many methods of printing labels and stickers and found that most printing industry make use of offset printing equipment that proved costly. Thus small to medium clients, like me, cannot afford to buy attractive and top quality labels and stickers. At Frontier label, this is never a problem, as they are on 100% digital printer, offering the most advanced and greatest advantages to customers. They really want to help people discover the power of digital printing. Frontier labels’ prints are used in hundreds of different applications and their clients include companies from Fortune 100 to small entrepreneurs launching a new product.

The ability to shop for labels and stickers online is really great and I am impressed that Frontier labels can even provide instant quotation. Just fill in the specifics for your label and stickers and they give you instant quotation. They even guarantee that the price you see online is the real deal, no hidden fees or whatsoever. Oh, and the best part is, www.frontierlabel.com donates 10% of its profits to ministries whose goal is to make a difference in the lives of people in our community. Now that’s really cool!

ReviewMe Scam!

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Ok, I know that ReviewMe is a genuine company. Giving great opportunity to bloggers to review products and services at a high price. I also earned a lot from ReviewMe, but, unfortunately, they scammed me today.<

One of my review offers was about “Hannah Montana Tickets”. I reviewed it on my other blog, then I waited for 2 days to see if it was approved or rejected. But sadly, it was rejected! Why it was rejected? Because they scammed me and let me write a wrong review about that product, they said, that the review should be about “Jonas Brother Tickets” NOT “Hannah Montana Tickets”. But at first, they posted Hannah Montana Tickets, then changed it in stealth to Jonas Brothers Tickets. It’s so unethical, right? who will not be annoyed about it? For instance, they will ask you to review about MAC, then suddenly, they changed it to PC before deciding to approve or reject your review. The day after you accepted and reviewed their offer, you are so excited to check your ReviewMe account. You login, and see if your review was approved or not, then you’ll just realize that it was rejected because, it’s all about PC, not about MAC!!! Sino bang di maiinis?? SINNOOOO???? Tapos sasabihan ka pang dapat PC ang nireview mo, hindi MAC! bullshit!

They didn’t even inform me why they changed it. It was “Hannah Montana Tickets” for two weeks in my campaigns tab, before I accepted the offer. I was even skeptical to accept it, because it was only $20.00. Why should I waste my time to review such a crap worth $20.00. But, I have no choice that day, but the accept that offer, because the rest of the review offers suck. It’s all about the cas___ thing that can be one of the reasons for my site to get penalized by Big G. Kainis talaga! Grrrrrrrr… Hannah Montana, tapos naging Jonas Brothers bago nila ni reject??? Sinabi pa nila na: ” This has nothing to do with Hannah Montana! This is supposed to be about the Jonas Brothers.” O c’mon.. ang kapal niyo! Kahapon lang Hannah Montana yan, ngayon Jonas Brothers na? Maglokohan nalang tayo ReviewMe! Sue you! Damn!!! (Pero mag rereview parin ako.. nainis lang ako kasi di ko sila dinadaya, tapos ganito ginawa nila sa akin.. grrrrrr…)

ReviewMe Offer Accepted:

ReviewMe Review Rejected, because it should not be Hannah Montana? Pwede pala yun palitan????
