Kawawang bata… (Eto naman ang sasabihin ng mga taong matataas ang pride at alam na nila ang tungkol sa Windows Vienna). Hmmm? Ano yan joke? Windows na Vienna? Vienna Sausage ba yan? (Eto naman ang sasabihin ng mga taong walang paki at walang alam tungkol sa mga Operating Systems na bago ngayon, at wala talagang alam kung anong ibig sabihin o ano ang isang OS).

Okey, Please don’t ask why I am blogging about this. If you want to ask why, it is because I want to! Hehe. Maybe there’s another reason why? This one is a pretty old problem that I’ve encountered using PHP5, after migrating from PHP4. I just wanna right this stuff because somebody encountered the same problem as I did. So that I can help if someone who’s newbie in creating PHP form processors uses phpformgen from SourceForge.

Just lately, somebody PMd me at chatango, (that small live chat box at the sidebar of my blog). He asked about phpformgen problems in PHP5. Then I answered it, because “alam ko eh, hehe”. My answer was easy, just remove that global.inc.php includes thing in your process.php that was generated by the phpformgen. Then, delete the pt_registers and edit the posting functions from ‘POST’ to $_POST, that’s how easy it is. You can make your own form processor by just applying that simple function, you can send email information from form starting from a scratch. You can view my very very simple PHP form processor here, just one data to be sent to a form recipient, so that you’ll have a basic idea. (for those newbie who really doesn’t have the basic concept, but for pro-programmers, I’m sure you will laugh at this post, hehe).

If you are encountering the same problem as I do, then I can’t help you, because I’ve never ever resolved this problem. If you set your CNAME alias and point it to ghs.google.com, even if you’ll wait for one week for the domain to propagate, it won’t work! Wah! You’ll just waste time of waiting it to be live over the world wide web, it really don’t work! Same with my blogger account, you have an option to publish your posts in your custom domain, but it doesn’t really work at all. Or maybe, my settings are wrong, but I have verified it to GoDaddy that my Total DNS Control settings are right, maybe the problem is with Google’s side.

I have submitted a support request to Google but they don’t bother to reply at all. I think their very busy developing their new apps, and won’t waste time to entertain this newbie problem. I hope somebody made it work, and comment to this post, because I can’t, I really really can’t make it work.

It’s been a week of waiting for my CNAME alias to propagate, maybe a redirection or SSH settings would be better. What’s the catch? if I’ll use CNAME to provide custom URL, it will still redirect to mail.google.com, so why don’t use redirection with mask instead, diba?

UPDATE: Problem already solved. Just don’t forget to include the subdomain, like blog.yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com so that it will propagate.

Kainis talaga ng Internet Explorer, pero IE6 lang naman, mas ok parin pala FireFox, hehehe.. Basta may nakita akong bug sa Div Floats and Negative Margining, may mga text na hindi nababasa pag gumamit ka ng negative margin, sa IE6. Kasi nag rent me ng PC sa Netopia at yung PC na na rent ko ay makalumang IE6 browser ang gamit. Kaya nung pag check ko ng website ng A-Plus, current project ko ngayon for my client, naku po, ang gulo gulo. May mga pages na ok naman, pero maraming pages na hindi na align ang text at images, at yung iba nag overlap na yung image sa isang image, at may mga text na hindi mabasa.

Kaya I therefore conclude na Fire Fox is better the IE. Pero love ko parin IE syempre. Hehehe.. Pero if we look beyond, FF is far way more better than IE. Hayyy.. another Cross Browser Compatibility Issue nanaman for me. Pero I’m learning a lot, dapat e dump na mga lumang browsers, pero we can’t blame the major users, kasi ayon sa W3 Schools Web Stats, mas marami parin ang users ng IE6 sa buong mundo. Baka after 2-3 years mag upgrade na yung mga taong yun, mababawasan na ang problem ng CSS coders, hehe. Basta pag nag mamanual coding ka ng XHTML at CSS makikita mo talaga lahat ng browser bugs isa isa. As the day goes by, things get worst, naks.. mali mali mali.. w8 ganito pala, as the day goes by, I’m learning and learning, and having more knowledge about CBCI, or in short (Nabasa niyo na sa taas) Hehehe…

Or is it IE’s? Others said it is IE’s bug. But I think it is Mozilla’s? Pero IE cguro talaga. Kasi ganito, FireFox ignores the image height and width as spacer. Pero sa IE, yung exceeding space ng background image mo, ay ginagawa nyang spacer. San nga ba ang tama dito? In making paragraph division tags din, sa FireFox ang float right ay hindi na na a-align sa background. But, in IE, it works fine. Na resolve ko to for both IE and FireFox, how? I didn’t use P DIV IDs for floating images to right, with image background. Ma e encounter mo lang to, pag yung div tag mo is within another div tag. Like placing a log with a gradient background that repeats horizontally. Para makagawa ka ng header in CSS Liquid Layouting Technique, also known as, resolution dependent layout.

Back to the first bug. Sa palagay ko sa IE to. IE should ignore exceeding image height as spacer, like FireFox does. Text spacing should use padding, tama ba CSS gurus? Kasi pag yung exceeding width ay height + padding ang base natin ng spacing ay magulo. Kaya, etong post ko ay mali ang title, dapat cguro IE bugs, nating FF. Hehehe.. Pero marami paring bugs na nakalimutan ko. Kaya napaka importante na alam natin ang cross-browser issues at W3C web standards para maiwasan ang mga CSS floating, spacing, padding, at iba pang bugs na makikita mo pag nag hahard code ka ng CSS. Hayyy.. kasakit talaga to ng ulo, CSS pa nga to. lalo na pag PHP part na yung gagawin ko. waaaaaaaaaa!!! Pero infairness, enjoy din mag code. Kasi masaya, kaya enjoy, at masaya, kasi enjoy. Toink? Just wanna share yung mga na discover ko about working at NASA during my muni muni moments… Sa mga nakabasa na neto, at sa may mga alam na, huwag niyo nalang po basahin, pero sa mga interesado lang na maging astronaut! or maka work sa NASA kahit hindi Astronaut! Teka, baka may mga blog readers ako dito na hindi alam anong meaning ng NASA? NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. May nabasa lang me tungkol sa NASA employment. Eto na, copy paste ko nalang po ha:

iSEO, Image Search Engine Optimization, ako lang may gawa nyan.. la kasi me maisip.. pangit din kasi SEiO, ehdi iSEO nalang. Sobrang galing mag optimize ng Google ng mga images, pati mga website na may pangalan ko lang, or na visit ko lang, or naiwanan ng pangalan sa shoutbox or comment box nila ay na optimize din gamit ang pangalan ko. Batet kaya? Di ko alam sobrang sensitive ng search engine nila, hehehe.. Pero astig parin kasi na optimize yung images ng site at blog ko. Weeeeeee!!! Sa search results din sa keyword na Laurente, nasa first page na ako. Dati nasa pinaka likod ako eh, kaya improving na ang search engine rankings ko ngayon. Sana patuloy na tong SEO career ko, pati PHP career, XHTML career, Graphic Designing Career, at lahat ng careers! ang saya talaga maging isang Newbie Web Developer, patuloy na naiimprove ko skills ko day by day. Dati WYSIWYG software lang gamit ko, ngayon pwede na notepad at ultraedit sa pagawa ng Cutting Edge web layouts at web scripts! Astig diba? Tiyaga lang ang puhunan… Pag may trabaho, pero pag walang trabaho, mahirap matuto sa internet cafe, kasi per hour ang bayad, mas maganda sa office. hehehehe… :). At pahabol din pala, tumaas na ranking ko sa keyword na “Laurente” for Google Search Results, I ranked 5th out of 80,600 search results for Laurente. Kaya ang saya ng SEO. Sa wakas, nakagawa na rin ako ng javascript for my site. Kasi kelangan ko mag iba yung design to fit in 800×600 screen resolution. Kaya gumawa me ng javascript function para mag load ng ibang CSS pag iba ang screen resolution. Pero actually di pa to perfect. Di ko alam paano e load yung CSS kaya buong index niload ko, tapos sa loob ng index na yun nalang nakalagay yung CSS. Sa CSS kasi lahat ng images ko kaya wala na problem sa pag resize. Kaya yun. Nag isip isip me paano ko gawin na ma view parin ng maganda sa 800×600 screen resolution. Ang base resolution ko kasi ay 1280×1024, and minimum resolution ay yung standard resolution na 1024×768.

Pero paano kung 800×600 na. Pangit din kasi kung mag base ka sa 800×600 unless liquid layout ang CSS mo, yung ma stretch siya. Maganda din naman yun, pero pag marami ka ng images, pwede mo din naman gamitin yung sa The Man in Blue na CSS dependent layout, cool to! check it out here, or yung sa A List Apart na technic nakalimutan ko na, yung pag e resize mo browser mo, mag ra wrap yung image at liliit din, I mean mag auto crop siya, pwede mo siyang ma view kahit sa anong resolution, kahit sa cellphone or sa PDA, astig diba?. update ko nalang tung post ko pag na alala ko. hehehe.

Pero, puro nalang ako pero. Gusto ko kasi gayahin yung sa yahoo.com. Try mo change ang resolution mo to 800×600, mag iiba yung page ng yahoo, mawawala yung scroll bar sa gilid ang lilipat na siya sa gitna. Tapos adjust mo ulit sa normal resolution mo na 1280 or 1024, mag iiba ulit yung page. Kaya yun ang gusto kong mangyari, ganda kasi. E sheshare ko lang yung javascript, alam ko makaluma na to na method, pero ok parin, pero hindi valid XHTML to ha, HTML 4.01 transitional lang siya, pero ok na rin, di naman to magiging index mo, ma reredirect ka sa ibang index na compatible sa resolution mo.

Okey, simulan ko na. Una gumawa ako ng function, nilagay ko nalang ay jehzlau, ehdi sa javascipt eto ang kalalabasan.
