W3C XHTML 1.0 Strict to 1.1

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Basta ang dami if you try to validate your HTML 4.01 and Convert it to XHTML 1.0 Strict dami ka makikitang pagkakaiba. The Latest Document Type Declaration ng W3C, and I’m proud of it. I have another interoperable Web Page na nagawa! Yes!!! Eto ang results ng validation ko :)

Yan, XHTML 1.1 talaga. Latest Document Type Declaration yan ayun sa W3 Consortium or World Wide Web Consortium. Weeeeeeeee!!! Ang saya!
Valid XHTML 1.1
You can check my site if it’s really XHTML 1.1 Valid here. To know more about this XHTML things, you can click here. That’s all for today. BRB soon ^_^

P.S.: For those who are not updated, may XHTML 2.0 na rin, kaso di pa available for validation, nasa draft phase pa siya, for more information about XHTML 2.0 click here.

I have passed! At long last!

Yey! WohoOOOooo!! Dami pang errors, 27 errors nakita nya, halo halo kasi eh. I removed that tag, at wala namang nangyari sa log in form ko, ok parin. Kaya nag revalidate ako for Strict DTD, at sabi ng Validator ay:

Result: Passed validation

Next part is the dynamic part na. Hayy… :(
NOTE: Pag e click niyo yung W3 icon sa taas, invalid yan, 100+ errors found, blogspot ko kasi yan, paki change nalang ng dostscholars.com/adec3, yun lang po, talamat :) be right back muna validate ko din kasi CSS ko. hehe.. May walong error, amf!!!

Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

In the world’s Top 3 Websites, only Microsoft Network passed the W3C Validator. It is the only valid XHTML 1.0 Strict among rest top sites, like Yahoo and Google. Yahoo has 37 errors while Google has 64 errors. If you don’t believe, better check it here. Is it really necessary to pass the Markup Validation Service? I think it’s not that important, but for others, it’s really necessary to maintain the Web Standards. Our website should have no tables, the layout should only be in CSS, and only plain data should appear in the HTML file.

Tables should only be used in tabular data. So we should not used ImageReady to slice out pages, and spacer.gif should not be used also. We should be familiar with CSS and XHTML, and HTML 4.01. This is the web’s future. No colored scrollbars, and IE will be dumped because of supporting such features that doesn’t comply with the web standards! Waaaaah!!! Pero ok rin yung web standards. Full support ako sa pag implement ng W3C standards na to, to make bring back to web, parnag FireFox motto. “Bring the Web Back!”. Does IE sucks? because more and more, and more developers hates IE. Kaya standards are very very important. But why Google and Yahoo does not comply with the standards? Yahoo pa naman ang #1 Website in terms of site traffic, pero they don’t comply with the web standards. There are so many questions that buggles my mind, and the worst of it, is I can’t answer those mysteries, those web mysteries na big deal to me, and small deal to others. hehe yun lang po. Babush ;)

Commute Tayo

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Kakapagod pala mag commute from Manila to Alabang! Waaaah! Di ko na to kaya. 5:00AM palang dapat gising na me. Then log in sa Savant, tapos punta ng ADEC naku po 2 hours na byahe everyday! I travel daily na parang Sta.

Parang US Navy.

Why Do Girls Love Boring Games?

Monday, March 19th, 2007

While at home my younger sister always ask me to play with her in this very hot and seemingly entertaining Dress Up Doll Games. I just say that I’m busy and I don’t have time. (Nahh.. me? Playing doll games?) She always wants to compete with me who’s better in dressing up dolls. Haha! I really hate dressing dolls, specially those boring flash games. Drag the clothes, drop it on the non-living cartoon, and just look at it. Nothing happens once you’re done dressing up those cartoons.

My sister’s favorite among all online doll games was the so called Bratz Games. The Bratz are one of the many famous fictional cartoon characters on planet Earth. It’s like a semi-advanced “Power Puff Girls” based on how it was sketched and drawn. It looks way better than the odd Power Puff Girls, but it still sucks. I don’t know what did my sister swallowed why she was so attached in a very boring computer game and can’t get enough of it. She always play with it everyday, look at in, and smile, then close the browser like nothing happens. Duhh. I don’t know what kind of amusement she’s getting from it. That’s all that I wanna say. I just want to share that these sort of games are so boring. Nothing happens once your done. Just plain and boring amusement. They enjoy seeing those digital characters nowadays than dressing their physical plastic dolls. I think they prefer to play it on their computers because it’s much more convenient than dressing up a Barbie doll. Barbie dolls are expensive, hard to maintain, and gets dirty easily.

That’s all that I can think of that’s why they are so addicted and so in to it. I was just bored watching them drag and drop flash objects. Hehehe

Last Day at Savant

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Huhuhu, this would be my very last day here in Savant, bukas ng madaling araw nasa ADEC na me! waaaaaa!! pano na to di na ako makaka internet everyday, bugbug ang trabaho ko doon sa ADEC :(. Savant Technologies, Inc. - ito ang first company ko, dito me unang naka trabaho (first company nga eh!) Dito me unang kumita ng pera, at dito me natuto gumawa ng website kaya dito ako naging isang Web Developer.

After 10 months ko dito, nahasa ko na skills ko, pero I’m not that good parin. I still consider myself as a Newbie in Web Development and Design. Tapos bigla nalang akong itatapon sa ADEC para gumawa ng isang E-commerce na website, Online Database ng Jobseekers at Employers, in short, gagawa me ng Online Recruitment System, yung parang Jobstreet!!! WaaaaahH! naku po isang newbie like me ay gagawin yun! Paano na ako! Huhuhu…

Gusto kasi makita habang ginagawa ko yung dynamic website nila, at may ipapagawa pa daw na isang Flash Website. Huhuhu. Tulong! Help! waaaaaaHH!! Naku po :( Paalam po baka ito na last post ko :( Sana may kasunod pa tong post na to. Huhuhu. Ganito talaga me, wala tiwala sa sarili, ni recommend kasi me ng boss ko dito sa Savant. At pinapili me kung pupunta me sa ADEC, Yes or Yes daw. paano na? walang NO??? Mag cocommute ako everyday from Manila to Alabang, pero ok lang free naman food ko at transpo, e rerefund daw :) hehe, pero kahit na nakaka pagod parin yun. Pero ok lang sana matapos ko yung website, I have 2 weeks to make it work. Hay.. Good luck nalang sa akin. Paalam po :( Hope to breathe fresh air after this project. hehehe.. hayyy.. paalam na po.. babayyy :(

SEO Tips to Bear in Mind

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

Hayyyy pangalawang beses ko na to ipopost, nag error kanina di ako naka backup at biglang nawala yung mahabang post ko! waaaaaaaaHH!! Kainis! Whew! Big deal na pala to ngayon. Oo kasi.. basta mahabang kwento nanaman. Magbibigay lang me ng tips for SEO Newbies.

1. Content Matters the Most - Search engines index the content of a website, and the more content you have, the better. Add relevant content to your website. If your website sells cellphone, PCs, Gadgets na kahit ano, you can add reviews on those things. This will also attract potential buyers to your website. Usually buyers do research first before they buy online.

2. Provide Navigational Links - In order for any search engine to index all the pages of your site, it should be able to find them. An efficient navigation system is very important. Avoid using images, JavaScript or flash navigation links, because search engines look for HTML link tags for indexing. Kaya maganda paring Static websites, very friendly for SEO talaga! :)

3. Use synonymous phrases in headers, titles, and meta tags - Include related words and phrases in page titles, text, and header meta tags. This will expand the range of keywords that the web page might be listed under. For example, this page has a title of “Jehzlau Concepts - Defining the edge of abstract electronic arts”, while the articleheader is “SEO Tips to Bear in Mind”. This page has been targeted for anyone searching for either of these words. Search engines value the page title, meta tags and page headers more than any text in the page.

Use Google Webmaster Tools din at yung ibang Cool Apps nila like Sitemap Generator. For more information regarding SEO, visit the official SEO Forums of the Philippines astig dyan! dami ka matututunan. About Adsense, Adwords, Pay Per Click, at marami pang iba! Whew! Hanggang dito nalang po babay…

Photoshop: Curly Hair Tutorial

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

This was a very nice tutorial of how to erase the background with a very curly haired object (a living object) in the foreground. Hehe :) This thread was started by me in the Adobe Forums, under Photoshop Category. The tutorial was not made by me, I just posted the question.. wahehe.. Like this one, by Chris J Birchall:

Sometimes you have to use a combination of tools. For this I took the Background eraser set to 40% tolerance and “wiped” it around the hair in one sweep. Ten I put the image into the “Extract” filter to extract the rest of the image from the background.

Then a little cleaning up with the normal eraser. Because the background eraser cannot completely eliminate the background between the whisps, due to the “gritty” texture of the background in this shot, you have to resort to some trickery: After inserting the new BG, I sampled the blue colour, then “Locked Transparency” on the image layer.

Using the brush tool at 50% I then “painted” any remaining bits of which(ish) colour finging the hair, with blue sampled from the background. Obviously, a much better job could be done when working on the full resolution file. Experiment with those tools, and always work on a copy so you can go back and try again if things go wrong.

For the rest of the tutorial, click
here.

I hope this will give you some idea of how to deal with the curlies… :)

Lunarpages is the most well known fraud webhosting company ayon sa akin, at ayun sa Google, kasi siya ang first sa search results eh. You better check their website, at hahanga ka sa mga “pre-made” testimonials ng clients nila.

They are affordable and reliable… O c’mon reliable? affordable nga! pero scam naman, you’ll waste your hard earned money for the very very verrrrrry cheap service na wala ka namang makukuha! hehehe… Here are some of the fake testis from the fake clients that really don’t exist:

1. “Lunarpages ROCKS! We got our website up and running in no time. They offer lots of great features with more-than-reasonable prices. Thanks, Lunarpages!”
2. “Lunarpages has been a joy to work with. Especially the representative I have worked with directly. To have an actual person to talk to (particularly in this business) has really meant a lot to me.”
3. “…the support center has been so attentive to my needs. I am continually amazed that I get responses the same day I ask the question. You have made me a loyal customer.”

Hayyy… galing talaga manloko ng mga manloloko. Better check their website for more information. Nainis lang talaga me sa kanila! grrrRR!!! Beware of Lunarpages Scam it’s a big scam, and it’s a true scam. Let me say this: “Lunarpages !##$^#$!!!!” hehehe…

For a good and scam-free webhosting service, better check http://marvinsweb.net, http://accuwebhosting.com or http://www.mamboserve.com/ or kung may ma recommend pa kayong honest and affordable webhosting service, you can leave a comment to my blog. hehehe. Yun lang for today. Smile :)
